Caleta Amarilla, Caleta De Fuste (All Inclusive) – December 2004

We decided to try something totally different and go all inclusive this time. We usually go out for dinner every night and visit our favourite eating places throughout Caleta, which we missed doing – but the choice of food and the quality of food at Caleta Amarilla was fantastic and cannot be faulted in any way. During the day, all drinks are served in paper coca cola cups to prevent any accidents with glass etc and because of the constant breeze, these paper cups would blow all over the place when people did not put them in the litter bin.

Apartment: Shabby, run down, needs a good lick of paint and a lot of handy-work. We were lucky enough to get an apartment on side A of the complex, which is a lot quieter than side B, as this is where the entertainments bar is located.
Complex: We felt really sorry for the bar/restaurant and snack bar staff, who were constantly trying to keep up with the demands of various chip eating, lager drinking louts who hadn’t heard of how to put their litter in a bin. The entertainment program wasn’t our cup of tea, but we hadn’t ever planned to stay on the complex all day or night, (as some people do) so we just done our usual thing. We also found the British reception staff were quite unhelpful and snappy on a few occasions when we went to see about something. THE SPANISH reception staff couldn’t do enough for you. It was like chalk and cheese. Mel was really nice, friendly and helpful.
Pool Bar: This was always extremely busy with people trying to squeeze every last penny’s worth they paid for their holiday out of the complex, which is also the same with the Entertainment Bar.
Maid service: It was hard to tell if the maid had been in some days – the only sign was if some items had been moved within the apartment. The clean towels were also very smelly and never smelt fresh..
